Varun Chakaravarthy played a pivotal role in the fourth T20 International between India and Australia at Carrara Oval, Queensland, on Thursday, November 6. The leg-spinner took the key wicket of Glenn Maxwell, who was dismissed for just 2 runs, leaving Australia in a difficult position at 103/6.
The crucial breakthrough occurred in the 15th over of Australia's chase when Varun bowled a sharp googly that caught Maxwell off guard. The batter tried to create space to play through the off side but missed the delivery completely. The ball clipped the top of the off-stump before being caught by the wicketkeeper.

Varun finished his spell with strong figures of 1/26 from four overs. He is currently the No. 1 T20I bowler and has taken five wickets in this series. In total, he has claimed 26 wickets in 15 T20I matches this year.
India’s disciplined bowling kept them in control as Australia struggled. At the time of reporting, Australia was 116/8 after 17 overs, with Ben Dwarshuis and Nathan Ellis at the crease. Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, and Washington Sundar were also influential with the ball, each taking two wickets.
Among notable wickets, Shivam Dube dismissed Tim David for 14 runs off nine balls. Earlier, India posted a competitive total of 167/8 batting first.
