Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has introduced a new generation of humanoid robots featuring synthetic skin designed to feel warmer and more intimate.
About the Robot
The IRON humanoid robots are Xpeng's eighth generation and third in humanoid design. Unlike many robots aimed at industrial use, these are intended for roles such as receptionists, tour guides, and personal shopping assistants.

Robotics Laws Guiding the Robots
Xpeng’s CEO stated that the robots are programmed with four robotics laws. Three of these derive from Isaac Asimov’s famous laws:
1. A robot may not injure a human being or allow a human to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given by humans, except where such orders conflict with the first law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence unless this conflicts with the first or second law.
The company added a fourth law:
4. Robots are prohibited from disclosing their owners' data.
