Brantford Councillors Endorse 'Critically Important' Infrastructure Project
A multi-million dollar plan to install water and wastewater pipes under Highway 403 near the Oak Park Road interchange is deemed "critically important" to Brantford's economic future by Mayor Kevin Davis.
Strategic Location for Industrial Development
The land in question lies just north of Highway 403 and includes a former gravel pit. According to the mayor, it is one of the few sites in southern Ontario primed for industrial use once the necessary piping is installed.

Economic Potential Linked to Infrastructure
Davis highlighted that resolving the trade situation with the United States could spark substantial industrial growth in southern Ontario. Brantford would be a top candidate for investment if the infrastructure is in place.
“We’d be a prime candidate for that investment. But we won’t be a prime candidate unless the pipes are in the ground. We need to have those pipes in place to secure economic development.” – Mayor Kevin Davis
Project Details and Council Support
The project, estimated to cost between $20 million and $40 million, would connect the city’s northwest industrial area south of Highway 403 to the undeveloped land north of it.
Councillors recommended approving the proposal at a recent meeting. Final approval will be sought at the upcoming city council session in November.
