Slovakia's first EV battery facility has officially launched, with Gotion High-Tech marking the milestone at a ceremony held on 28 October in Šurany.
The site occupies 95 hectares and is engineered for an initial capacity of 20GWh, scheduled to begin production in 2027, serving the EU market.
Gotion will take 'Made in Slovakia' batteries as a driving force to empower global green energy
said Li Zhen, chairman of Gotion. The gigafactory will act as a regional centre for research, innovation and skills development.
