Cycling Eurovelo 3: From Northern France to Belgium
Rupert Parker gets in the saddle for cycling Eurovelo 3. Across seven days, he will ride through forest, farmland, and along river valleys across France to Belgium.
On the way, he will explore châteaux, cathedrals, and cobbled squares, moving at a pace that allows him to take in the scenery. With the help of an E-Bike, he will get all the assistance he needs from electricity to keep him going.
The EuroVelo 3, also known as La Scandibérique, spans from Norway to Spain, tracing the footsteps of medieval travellers by bike. One of its most captivating sections is the 300km journey from Chantilly, near Paris, to Thuin, in Belgium.
For practical purposes, there are Accueil Vélo (in France) and Bienvenue Vélo (in Belgium) accredited facilities all along the EuroVelo 3, providing support for cyclists.
