The city of Fort Mitchell is set to embark on a sidewalk design project to address the issue of walkers vs. e-scooters. According to Mayor Jude Hehman, "We have more kids than ever walking to school."
"When OKI was looking for opportunities, early this year we put in for a grant, and we got $2 million for sidewalks. We do already have sidewalks, but we want to improve them and widen them. This city is a walking city."
The city plans to complete the sidewalk project before the state begins its work on Dixie Highway, which will include a new interchange, roundabout, and curbs and gutters. Mayor Hehman noted, "People are funny about when you do sidewalk work."
The project aims to improve sidewalks with a $2 million grant. Author's summary: Fort Mitchell tests sidewalk solution.
