Local Event Encourages Hoosiers to Contact State Officials
A gathering in Fort Wayne is inviting community members to make their voices heard after Indiana Governor Mike Braun's call for a special legislative session on redistricting.
"Washington outsiders want our lawmakers to redraw the state's Congressional maps, an unnecessary process that would take place just a few years after they drew the current maps,"
organizers said.
"Together, we can keep Indiana's maps fair and our voices heard."
The event, held from 2 to 4 p.m. at USW Local #903, will include:
- a short training on creating effective messaging
- materials for letter-writing
- light refreshments
- an opportunity to meet partner organizations
Attendees are encouraged to reach out to state representatives, state senators, and the governor to urge them to oppose mid-cycle redistricting.
