Prison Statistics Update
Tailevu has the highest number of inmates with 163, while iTaukei make up the majority with 2,185 inmates.
According to Superintendent Isireli Dausiga, Director of Rehabilitation, Education, and Training, the latest statistics show:
- Ba Province ranks second with 143 inmates
- Cakaudrove has 140 inmates
- Lau has 133 inmates
- Lomaiviti has 115 inmates
Out of the total number of inmates, 1,654 are convicted, while the remainder are on remand or under civil detention.
