Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update and Switch 2 Edition
A major free update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to arrive in January, alongside a paid Switch 2 Edition upgrade.
Nintendo has announced a free update for all versions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as a $4.99 Switch 2 Edition upgrade, which will add features such as mouse controls and 12-player multiplayer.
The Resort Hotel features new tasks, clothes, and furniture, and allows players to earn tickets by decorating rooms for guests.
The Slumber Island feature will enable players to have up to three extra islands online, which can be worked on with other players.
A $64.99 digital and physical Switch 2 version will be released on January 15, 2026, along with the free update and Switch 2 Edition upgrade.
