Azerkhalcha Creates Largest Circular Carpet for Shusha Mosque
Azerkhalcha OJSC, in collaboration with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, PASHA Holding, and PMD Projects, is crafting the largest circular handmade carpet in the history of world carpet-making.
The carpet, measuring 22.17m in diameter, is intended for the Shusha Mosque and incorporates elements of the "Xətai" design from the Garabagh group.
- Main weaving process takes place at the Ismayilli and Shabran workshops.
- 150 female weavers have been working on the carpet since December last year.
Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, contributed to the historic carpet by adding knots herself during her visit on October 27.
