Savannah Arts Cross-Country Teams Aim for Excellence
Under the guidance of Coach Steve Ricciardi, the Savannah Arts girls and boys cross-country teams are poised to excel at the upcoming GHSA state meet in Carrollton.
Ricciardi, in his 14th season, has cultivated a winning culture, developing one of the top programs in the state. The Panther girls team has been a dominant force in GHSA's Class 2A, winning the state title in 2022, finishing third in 2023, and claiming the championship again last year.
- The girls team has won six straight meets leading up to the Class 2A Sectional 1 meet.
- The boys team has also had an excellent season, with three consecutive meet wins ahead of Saturday's action.
"I've been impressed with the season we have had, especially because we have dealt with more injuries than I can remember in any other year,"
Ricciardi said. The teams look to close out the season strong at the state meet.
