India Launches MAHA-MedTech Mission
The Mission for Advancement in High-Impact Areas (MAHA)-Medical Technology (महा MedTech) aims to accelerate innovation in India’s medical technology sector.
It will provide funding support to various entities, including Academic and R&D institutions, Hospitals, Startups, MSMEs, and the MedTech industry.
The mission is a collaboration between Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and the Gates Foundation.
The initiative aims to reduce reliance on high-cost imports and promote equitable access to affordable and high-quality medical technologies.
- Funding support: Rs 5–25 crore per project
- Exceptional cases: up to Rs 50 crore
