Activists are urging Sonoma County leaders to pass a non-collaboration ordinance to address the concerns of the immigrant community. An emergency meeting was held by the Sonoma County Sanctuary Coalition to discuss the situation.
"The reality is the people are so terrified and so full of distress that people aren't leaving their homes,"said Renee Saucedo, highlighting the community's distress.
The Rapid Response Network, an immigrant hotline, has seen a surge in calls, indicating the community's fear and uncertainty. Activists are calling on county leaders to take action to alleviate these concerns.
