Halton Hills Farmers Reflect on This Year's Harvest

Allison's Farm Market and The Humble Garden have concluded their harvest season, with plans for expansion and reflection on their successes.

Bob and Christine Allison, owners of Allison's Farm Market, have seen a successful season, with their main crop being sweet corn.

"Our main crop is, of course, the sweet corn,"
said Bob Allison. They grew 12 acres this year and plan to increase to 18 acres next year.

Christine Allison manages the market, sourcing produce from nearby Ontario farms to maintain a stock of local goods year-round.

"Anything we don't grow here, we get from other local farmers,"
she said.

The Humble Garden has reported their

"best year it's ever been"
for tomatoes, making this year's harvest a notable one for both farms.
