Demidov’s 3 points lift Habs to 4-3 win over Vancouver Canucks
Rookie sensation Ivan Demidov had a goal and two helpers, leading the visiting Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Other goal scorers for Montreal included Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky and Mike Matheson, while goalie Jakub Dobeš made 28 saves to pick up the win.
Forward Elias Pettersson, Jake DeBrusk and Conor Garland scored for Vancouver, with Captain Quinn Hughes and Pettersson each dishing out a pair of assists.
Pettersson opened the scoring 4:42 into the first period, converting a nice return pass from Filip Hronek for his second goal of the season.
The Canucks outshot the Canadiens 11-4 in the first period, despite the presence of many vocal Montreal fans at the game.
