A surgeon was struck off after using a laser to 'brand' his initials onto a patient's organ.
On August 21, 2013, a woman underwent a liver transplant operation, which proved to be more complicated than expected.
Her surgeon, Simon Bramhall, an experienced doctor who had previously made headlines in 2010 for saving a patient's life with a transplant, performed the surgery.
He claimed he knew other people who'd done it.
During the operation, Bramhall discovered a small tear on the connecting artery, which he eventually managed to repair, completing the transplant.
