Arbor’s ‘vegetarian rocket engine’ power plant is actually an omnivore | TechCrunch

Arbor Energy's Power Plant Expansion

Arbor Energy has modified its power plant to burn natural gas in addition to biomass, shifting from a "vegetarian" to an "omnivore" approach.

Initially, the plant was designed by former SpaceX engineers to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by burning plant waste, earning it the nickname "vegetarian rocket engine".

However, with the growing demand for electricity from data centers, the company has raised $55 million in Series A funding to adapt its technology.

Its power plant will now be capable of burning natural gas, making it more widely available and able to meet the increasing demand.
