Safety First: Hunters Urged to Use Caution Near Communities
Hunters and trappers are reminded to use caution near communities and remote work sites this hunting season.
- It is against the law to shoot or handle a firearm while hunting without exercising reasonable care for the safety of others.
- It is against the law to shoot a firearm from or across a highway, railway, or public or private road.
- Hunters cannot fire a gun, bow, or crossbow within 1,000 metres of a school, playground or athletic field or within 300 meters of a home or dwelling.
All hunters and outdoor users should wear blaze orange or other high-visibility clothing for their own safety.
