The next Ngāpuhi Rūnanga AGM will decide a major restructure.
Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi-Ō-Ngāpuhi announced its Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at Te Mahurehure Marae in Point Chevalier, Auckland.
The meeting schedule is as follows:
A key item on the agenda is a proposed group restructure, including the creation of a new sister trust – Te Rūnanga-Ā-Iwi-Ō-Ngāpuhi Commercial Trust.
This trust would take over fisheries and commercial assets, allowing more flexible support for Ngāpuhi whānau and hapū.
The restructure must be approved by 75% of voting members and receive regulatory sign-off, including from Te Ohu Kai Moana.
Voting will take place in person at the AGM or by postal ballot, due by 5pm Friday, November 21st.
