They are unbeaten in their last three matches, with a 2-0 win in the Carabao Cup against Everton and two 1-1 draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sunderland, on the other hand, have made an impressive start to life in the Premier League, sitting ninth in the table with three wins and two draws from their opening seven fixtures.
