An Akron man, Joshua Hillen, won the America’s Strongest Veteran strongman competition on Saturday, Oct. in Los Vegas.
According to Hillen, the sport of strongman can be summarized as:
“Basically, they say here’s some weird things to pick up and carry, and here’s some really heavy things to stand up with. Let’s see who can do it the best.”The competition consisted of five events, including the Trump Weights Axle Clean and Press, where the competitor must take a 325-pound axle from the ground and press it over their head for as many reps as possible. Hillen came in first in this category.
