Meta Introduces Parental Controls for Kids' AI Chatbot Interactions

Meta is set to introduce parental controls for kids' interactions with artificial intelligence chatbots, allowing parents to turn off one-on-one chats and block specific bots, starting early next year.

The new controls will enable parents to have more oversight over their children's online interactions, with the option to turn off chats with AI characters altogether.

Parents won’t be able to turn off Meta’s AI assistant, which will “remain available to offer helpful information and educational opportunities, with default, age-appropriate protections in place to help keep teens safe.”

Author's summary: Meta adds parental controls for kids' AI interactions.
