Sheriff's Office Investigates Asphalt Scam
The Tama County Sheriff's Office is investigating two asphalt scams that occurred last week in Toledo.
In one incident, a homeowner confronted the alleged scammers and was injured. The individuals then fled the scene.
We respect the many legitimate asphalt companies that serve our area. This message is not about them. It is about protecting residents from individuals who mislead, overcharge, or cause harm.
Sheriff Casey Schmidt warned residents about the scams in a Facebook post.
