Alpha Kappa Alpha Hosts Self-Defense Workshop

Alpha Kappa Alpha teamed up with Stanford Boxing Club for "Pretty Protected", a self-defense workshop that emphasized fighting smarter — not harder.

The high-energy workshop, held at Roble Arts Gym, featured a coaching session led by Nia Patton '25, where participants learned self-defense techniques to the beat of music, including Rhianna's "Breakin' Dishes".

"It was a lot of fun, a lot of good energy,"

said Nia Patton '25, one of the coaches leading the session. The event aimed to teach women to practice self-defense with confidence.

Founded in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha was the first Black Greek-letter sorority in the country.
