Nuisance Garage to be Torn Down Despite Threats
The city of Afton will move forward with tearing down a nuisance property, a deteriorating garage, despite owner threats to law enforcement.
A court order was first issued two years ago, and now the city will begin taking action to demolish nuisance properties.
The Afton City Council will decide on a contractor and date for the demolition at a future meeting, following a review of city ordinances with City Attorney Meggen Weeks.
The city had created letters of intent, signaling to nuisance property owners the city's intention to demolish, which can only proceed following a court order.
