The Dodgers and Seattle Mariners have achieved a rare feat in postseason play, not seen in 55 years, by winning the opening games of the LCS as road teams.
This unusual occurrence has only happened twice before, in 1970, when the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles took the first two games of their respective League Championship Series.

- The 1970 Baltimore Orioles took the first two games against the Minnesota Twins at Metropolitan Stadium, scoring 21 runs.
Both League Championship Series ended in three-game sweeps.
