Websites for inspectors general at USDA and other federal agencies are offline due to a freeze of funds by the Office of Management and Budget.
The Office of Management and Budget has frozen funds for the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), a little-known entity that trains and supports inspectors general.
The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) was informed late last month of OMB's policy decision to withhold fiscal 2026 funding “despite funds currently being available” in the agency’s no-year revolving account
According to Postal Service Inspector General and Acting CIGIE Chair Tammy Hull, this decision was made despite available funds in the agency's no-year revolving account.
The freeze has resulted in the shutdown of inspector general websites at USDA and other federal agencies.
