Survivors of Hamas festival attack express relief as Israeli hostages head home

Relief for Survivors of Hamas Festival Attack

Six survivors of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack in Israel expressed relief and solidarity with the 20 Israeli hostages released on Monday.

The survivors, who are currently in Boston with a traveling exhibition about the attack, welcomed the release of the hostages as part of a peace deal seeking to end the two-year conflict.

The release of the 20 hostages came in exchange for freedom for about 1,700 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.

Last month, the United Nations accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, with the nation's response to Hamas' attack resulting in over 67,800 Palestinian deaths, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

Palestinians and Israelis returning home were greeted with cheering crowds and hugs from loved ones, as reported by NPR.
