Due to the severe drought in Maine, with hundreds of wells running dry, the state's water conservation is a top concern.
According to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, companies with significant groundwater wells must monitor water levels and reduce or halt pumping if levels drop too low.
The DEP currently is not aware of any water bottling operations required to reduce or stop withdrawals during this drought.
