Harlan Co. Residents Push for Repairs to Flood-Damaged Bridge

A bridge in Harlan County, damaged in February's flood, remains unrepaired, causing concern among residents.

The Harlan County Emergency Management Director, Stephen Lewis, stated that a temporary crossing was installed the day after the damage, and is being maintained.

“You can see where it’s flattening out even since they came out twice to put gravel down, it’s just not lasting,”

said Cindy Perkins, a resident of Bailey’s Creek, expressing concerns about the safety of the crossing, especially with winter approaching.
