Russell Westbrook delivered his record-extending 204th career triple-double to lift the Sacramento Kings to a 121–116 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
Westbrook amassed 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Kings overcame a 13-point first-half deficit. Sacramento’s comeback came despite the absence of Zach LaVine, sidelined with lower back soreness, and Domantas Sabonis, who missed the game due to a rib contusion.
Rookie Will Richard impressed in his first career start, scoring 30 points for the short-handed Warriors. The team was missing key players Stephen Curry (illness), Draymond Green (rib contusion), and Jimmy Butler (lower back strain).
Schroder’s three three-pointers powered an 11–0 fourth-quarter surge that gave Sacramento a 115–104 lead. Golden State responded with a quick 10–2 run to narrow the gap to 117–114 inside the final minute.
“Kuminga missed a mid-range jumper, then Schroder knocked down two foul shots with 14.8 seconds remaining to secure a 119–114 lead for the Kings,”
The Kings held steady to close out the win, extending their strong start to the season.
Westbrook’s milestone triple-double fueled Sacramento’s rally against a depleted Warriors squad, underscoring his enduring impact and leadership.
