Embark Studios thanked players and offered an apology for the game’s rough launch by granting 500 Raider Tokens to everyone who played during the release weekend.
The new multiplayer extraction shooter Arc Raiders achieved remarkable success, selling around 1.6 million copies within its first three days after release. A day earlier, the game had already reached a peak of 354,836 concurrent players.
According to the analytics platform Gamalytic, sales generated approximately US$61.1 million in revenue. These numbers only reflect Steam data, meaning total sales across all platforms are likely even higher.
Despite the strong debut, the launch weekend was hampered by matchmaking and login issues as concurrent player counts surpassed 300,000. At one stage, servers went offline for several hours before Embark Studios rolled out fixes.
“As a token of our thanks, we’re sending 500 Raider Tokens to all Raiders who logged in on Sunday (2 November),” the studio posted on X, adding humorously that their servers “had a wobble” because “Scrappy must’ve pecked a few wires loose.”
The gesture helped ease frustration among the community and turned an unstable launch into a positive story of player appreciation.
Despite server instability, Arc Raiders achieved impressive early sales, and Embark Studios restored goodwill by rewarding players with free in-game tokens.
