Embark Studios experienced a surge in popularity this weekend as Arc Raiders reached a new peak of over 350,000 concurrent players on Steam, marking a significant milestone for the extraction shooter genre.
The game's success led to unexpected server overload. On November 2nd, many players faced lengthy queues and matchmaking delays, with waiting times often between five to ten minutes. Some players encountered matchmaking errors that forced them to restart the process.
“We are aware of widespread server, party system, and voice chat instability,” confirmed Embark Studios on the official Arc Raiders Discord.
Despite the technical setbacks, the record player count highlights the game's growing community and strong interest.
Arc Raiders achieved a record concurrent player count of over 350,000 on Steam but struggled with server overload and login difficulties during the surge, as confirmed by the developer.
