The Vancouver Canucks have officially ended their contract with Russian winger Vitali Kravtsov. General manager Patrik Allvin announced the decision on Tuesday, stating that Kravtsov, 25, was placed on unconditional waivers to facilitate the termination.
Kravtsov joined the Canucks' training camp in Penticton, B.C., before being assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks. There, he recorded one goal and three assists in 10 games.
The Canucks acquired Kravtsov from the New York Rangers in February 2023. However, he spent most of the past two seasons playing for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the KHL. During the 2022-23 season, he scored one goal and provided one assist in 16 games.
In the 2024-25 season, Kravtsov had a stronger showing with Traktor Chelyabinsk, tallying 27 goals and 31 assists over 66 games.
