The Golden State Warriors kick off NBA Cup play with a Friday night game against the Denver Nuggets. The tip-off is at 7:00 PM PT in Denver, and the game will be available on Prime Video.
Golden State recently lost to the Sacramento Kings 121–116 on Wednesday night. Both teams were missing key players: the Warriors without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green; the Kings without Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis.
Despite this, Golden State's younger players stepped up, with Moses Moody and rookie Will Richard combining for 58 points. Sacramento’s experienced bench ultimately secured the win, led by Russell Westbrook's triple-double of 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.
"The Warriors allowed 30 points off 19 turnovers against Sacramento and currently rank fourth in the league in turnovers per game (17.2)."
Following the recent loss, coach Steve Kerr emphasized the need to reduce careless turnovers. Golden State is expected to focus heavily on ball security in the upcoming game.
This matchup is a test for the Warriors as they aim to overcome recent challenges, relying on a mix of young talent and veteran leadership while combating key absences.
