Rugged schedule, Steph Curry’s illness force Warriors to take early precautions

Rugged Schedule and Steph Curry’s Illness Prompt Early Precautions

Head coach Steve Kerr has decided to rule out point guard Steph Curry for Wednesday’s game in Sacramento due to illness.

Curry, who had been battling a worsening cold for several days, appeared visibly unwell during his postgame press conference after the Warriors’ 118-107 victory over Phoenix at Chase Center on Tuesday.

Despite acknowledging that the illness affected his performance, Curry initially hoped to play in the second game of the back-to-back. However, Kerr quickly dismissed that possibility.

“I don’t care what the doctors say, we got to get him some rest. I’ll make the decision right now, he’s not going to play tomorrow.”

Alongside Curry’s absence, the Warriors (5-3) may also be without star wing Jimmy Butler, who experienced lower back soreness in the first half. Butler left the game at halftime after tweaking the injury during the initial 14 minutes.
