Dartmouth Football Looks to Regain Momentum Against Princeton

After a challenging 31-10 road defeat to undefeated Harvard, Dartmouth football is set to host the Princeton Tigers this Saturday in a determined effort to rebound. Despite the loss, the Big Green displayed resilience, particularly in a strong third quarter that revived their momentum.

“We came out of halftime and really battled and put ourselves right back in the game,” head coach Sammy McCorkle said. “But they just out-executed us and we didn’t make enough plays when we did get that momentum going. We talked about it at halftime: take one play at a time and do what we do. I think we did that in the third quarter.”

Offensive leader Chris Corbo ’26, a 2024 All-Ivy First Team tight end, highlighted the team’s offensive potential, noting their capability to compete when performing at full strength.

“We showed that when we play at our best we can execute against anyone,” Corbo said. “We came out of halftime with a purpose.”

Defensive standout Joshua Johnson ’27 emphasized improvements on the defensive side, particularly the increased pressure on the quarterback, which the team aims to carry into their matchup against Princeton.

“With that game, specifically the pressure we continued to put on the quarterback was a huge thing,” Johnson said.
