On Monday, November 3, a 78-year-old man was accused of attempted murder after firing multiple shots at his estranged wife at her home in Big Bear, officials reported.

Incident Details

Law enforcement received a report shortly before 7 a.m. from a neighbor in the 1100 block of Mounds Avenue, who heard gunfire.

"A neighbor reported that a male, later identified as Tamio Sakai, was discharging a firearm outside his estranged spouse's residence," the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department stated.

Deputies responding to the call found that Sakai had fired several rounds toward his estranged wife. He was detained outside the home and arrested after deputies located a recently discharged firearm in his vehicle.
