During the press tour for the final season of Stranger Things, a viral report surfaced claiming that Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of harassment and bullying on set. Netflix has avoided discussing this topic publicly.
Despite the report, Brown and Harbour appeared together and in good spirits at the season five world premiere in Los Angeles.
Co-creator Ross Duffer commented on the allegations on the red carpet alongside his brother Matt Duffer, saying:
"Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy."
Director and executive producer Shawn Levy described how the production team manages bullying concerns and prioritizes safety:
"At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so."
Levy also called some of the details in the viral report “wildly inaccurate.”
The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy reaffirm their dedication to maintaining a respectful, safe workplace for the cast amid bullying accusations involving Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.
