Jacob Elordi Stars in Bottega Veneta’s New Dreamy Campaign

Bottega Veneta presented its latest campaign, What Are Dreams, featuring Jacob Elordi and envisioned by renowned photographer and filmmaker Duane Michals. The project blurs the line between fantasy and reality, staying true to Michals’s deep interest in surrealism.

Shot in black and white at Michals’s New York residence, the series includes twelve stills and a short film. Each composition captures Elordi in mysterious, dreamlike moments—a drifting curtain, a convex mirror, or a feather midair—recurring motifs in Michals’s artistic vocabulary.

"I'm very much interested in the realm of the invisible. My problem is, how do I make the invisible visible?" — Duane Michals
"Of course movie making is also a dream, and Frankenstein is a scary dream. Jacob understood exactly what I was trying to do with the project. He was right there for the magic and the mystery of it." — Duane Michals

The actor also voices Michals’s 2001 poem, What Are Dreams, from which the campaign takes its name. Handwritten fragments of the poem appear throughout the visuals, reinforcing its introspective and ethereal quality.
