Virginians are heading to the polls on Tuesday in a high-stakes election with much at risk—from the governor’s mansion to all 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates.
Polls are open until 7 p.m. Anyone in line by that time may still vote. On Election Day, voters must bring one of the state’s accepted identification forms or, if they do not have one, be ready to sign an ID Confirmation Statement and cast a provisional ballot.
If a voter chooses to cast a provisional ballot, they must provide proof of identity or submit the signed statement to their local electoral board by noon on the Friday after the election for their vote to be counted.
Same-day registration is available. Eligible but unregistered voters can go to their precinct, register, and cast a provisional ballot on Election Day.
