A transgender individual involved in a viral Los Angeles gym bathroom incident was previously convicted of assaulting their ex-wife in Ohio while living as a man, before later taking her first name as their own.
Alexis Black clashed with women at a Beverly Hills gym, including singer-songwriter Tish Hyman, who accused Black of inappropriate behavior in the women’s locker room.
Formerly known as Grant Freeman, Black pleaded guilty in 2022 to brutally attacking his then-wife, Alexis Freeman, inflicting a compound jaw fracture and other severe injuries.
“Kyle Grant Freeman caused serious physical harm to the victim. The victim suffered a compound fractured mandible, which resulted in her needing surgery,” stated court documents from Hamilton County, Ohio.
Black was sentenced to one year in prison, with credit for time served. Records indicate that Freeman had past convictions for domestic violence and drug trafficking, along with additional charges such as resisting arrest.
