This November, residents of Calgary have the opportunity to bring home a new furry companion at a lower cost. The City of Calgary’s Animal Services Centre has announced reduced adoption fees for both cats and dogs throughout the month, aiming to help more animals find warm, loving homes before winter sets in.
“Every adoption gives an animal a second chance and opens space in our shelter for others who need help,” said Kathleen Dickson, Coordinator of Animal Care and Clinic Services.
“We hope this price reduction encourages more Calgarians to come meet the incredible pets waiting for homes.”
All adopted animals from the centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked, and include a one-year City of Calgary pet license. These steps ensure pets are healthy, identified, and ready to begin their new lives safely.
“If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them,” adds Dickson. “Bring pets indoors, provide warm bedding, and limit outdoor time during freezing temperatures.”
Adoptions are available at the Animal Services Centre, located at 2201 Portland Street S.E., open every day of the week.
Calgary’s Animal Services offers reduced cat and dog adoption fees this November to promote adoptions and remind owners to protect pets from the cold.
