The highly anticipated 2025 NAB AFLW Finals Series is underway. Marking the milestone tenth season, the AFL proudly launched the finals series and revealed the Grand Final medal presenters at Yarraville Seddon Eagles FC in Melbourne's west.
The finals kick off this Friday night, featuring St Kilda and the West Coast Eagles making their first-ever finals appearances. They join seasoned competitors Adelaide Crows and Brisbane Lions, with Melbourne, Carlton, and Hawthorn also contesting for the championship.
The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos, who secured the 2025 minor premiership, will defend their title after winning last year's flag.
For the first time in AFLW history, the captain of the winning Grand Final team will receive a medal equivalent to the AFL's Ron Barassi Medal.
As a former co-captain of the Adelaide Crows who won two best on ground medals among three premierships, Hall of Famer Erin Phillips OAM will present the Captain's Medal to the winning captain.
This addition honors leadership and sets a new precedent for the competition.
