Starbucks’ recent holiday merchandise release sparked major excitement thanks to a limited-edition tumbler known as the Bearista Cold Cup. The bear-shaped, 20-ounce cup debuted on November 6 and sold out within hours of hitting stores.
The Bearista Cold Cup, unveiled in the early hours of November 6, features a transparent design shaped like a bear. It includes a lid and straw that, when placed inside, resembles a green beanie resting on the bear’s head—a nod to Starbucks’ signature color palette.
Following its release, the Bearista Cup quickly caught attention on Instagram, where fans expressed both admiration and frustration. Many customers reported that by the time they arrived in stores, the cups were already gone.
“Not cool marketing Starbucks to only have 1-2 at each store and allow your baristas to buy them before customers. You should have had additional stock for your baristas and at least 10-20 for each store.”
“Our local store received ONE. Why are you even marketing this?”
Customers alleged that some Starbucks locations received only one or two Bearista cups each, sparking criticism about product availability and fairness. The company has acknowledged the strong demand and the enthusiasm surrounding the collectible holiday merchandise.
The Bearista Cold Cup sold out almost immediately, leaving fans divided between excitement and frustration over Starbucks’ limited holiday stock.
