Gordon Findlay, a Novo Nordisk executive, suddenly collapsed while standing behind President Donald Trump during a White House event announcing a new deal for weight-loss medications.
Findlay’s knees gave way unexpectedly. Administration officials and pharmaceutical representatives quickly moved to prevent him from hitting the floor.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the incident occurred during the "Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement."
“During the Most Favored Nations Oval Office Announcement, a representative with one of the companies fainted. The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is okay. The Press Conference will resume shortly.”
On-site medical personnel attended to Findlay promptly. Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, assisted in lowering Findlay safely to the ground to avoid head injury.
Reporters were then asked to leave the Oval Office as cabinet members provided care and elevated Findlay’s legs.
Leavitt stated the conference would continue shortly after the incident, assuring that Findlay was fine.
