Prince Harry apologized to Canada after causing controversy for wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat to Game 4 of the 2025 World Series. The Duke of Sussex issued the apology while in Toronto for Remembrance Day events on Thursday, November 6.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, faced backlash for wearing the Dodgers hat during the game at Dodger Stadium on October 28, where he attended with his wife, Meghan Markle. Critics felt he should have supported Canada's own Toronto Blue Jays instead of a team from his new home in California.
"Is there anything you would like to say about wearing that L.A. Dodgers hat last week and getting into hot water?"
Asked this question in an interview with CTV News, Harry responded,
"Well, firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it."
He took the moment amid his visit to the Veterans Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to laugh off the incident and reaffirm his affection for Canada.
Prince Harry was in Toronto attending Remembrance Day events, the U.K.’s equivalent of Veterans Day. Despite the hat controversy, he focused on honoring Canadian veterans and veterans’ services during his visit.
Prince Harry expressed regret for wearing a Dodgers hat instead of supporting a Canadian team, emphasizing respect and affection for Canada while attending important commemorative events.
