Star’s Fame Confession: ‘A Lot Has Changed’

There’s a gripping mystery and a flame-haired Australian actress, but Dakota Fanning notices significant differences between her latest whodunit All Her Fault and last year’s hit The Perfect Couple.

Working with Nicole Kidman

After collaborating with Nicole Kidman, Fanning shares her thoughts about filming her newest Hollywood project down under and reflects on growing up in the spotlight.

“There’s no dance,” she laughs about the much-copied flash mob sequence from the 2024 Netflix series featuring Nicole Kidman.

She notes, “There were also more laughs to The Perfect Couple. I think that this [All Her Fault] leans more into the thriller aspect of it all. But certainly, what we’ve all learned is viewers really love mystery and trying to figure out who is a part of it … That really unites an audience.”

Co-starring with Sarah Snook

In All Her Fault, Fanning stars alongside Sarah Snook, an actress she has admired since watching her acclaimed performance in Succession.

“Sarah, in real life, is just amazing. She’s such a talented actor and really a down to earth, grounded, fun person to be around.”

Fanning adds, “She was working so much that we didn’t hang out too much off the set. I think it’s been really important for her to recharge and refuel and be with her family.”

Plot Overview

Based on the novel by Andrea Mara, the eight-part series features Snook as Marissa Irvine, a distraught mother whose child disappears during a playdate.

Summary

The series combines suspense with strong performances, illustrating the evolving appeal of mystery thrillers.

Author’s note: Dakota Fanning highlights how her recent roles reflect a shift toward darker, more suspenseful stories, while still celebrating the actors’ humanity behind the scenes.
