BEST Announces New Bus Routes and Service Changes Effective November 1
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking has implemented major updates to its bus services starting November 1. These changes include the introduction of new routes, rationalisation of existing routes, cancellation of certain segments, and upgrades of several lines to air-conditioned buses to boost passenger comfort and improve operational efficiency.
New Bus Route A-101
Route A-101 now runs between the World Trade Center and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, covering important city locations such as G D Somani Road, President Hotel, Colaba, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, and Madame Cama Road. It operates six days a week, Monday through Saturday. The return route covers Hutatma Chowk, Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate, and other major landmarks, providing enhanced connectivity in south Mumbai.
Restructured Existing Routes
- Route A-1, previously running between Electric House and Colaba Depot, now terminates at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and operates only between CSMT and Santacruz Depot.
- Route A-6 will run between Backbay Depot and Tata Power Station with updated timings and routes.
- Routes A-44, A-47, A-48, and A-49 have been modified by shortening route lengths or changing terminal points to optimize service.
BEST is upgrading some routes to air-conditioned service to improve passenger comfort.
