The iconic reality show Big Brother Australia is making a comeback to Channel 10 in 2025. With the premiere approaching, host Mel Tracina has shared some insights about what viewers can expect from the new season.
The final contestant lineup is still under wraps and may change, but Mel revealed to The Watchlist that the cast spans “across five decades.”
“It’s ranging from a grandmother to a single mum to a barber to a self-confessed bogan,” Mel said. “We have blue-collar workers and white-collar workers. We have a diverse range.”
On September 16, 2024, Network 10 confirmed the show's return, promising a fresh new life for the series.
Mel Tracina highlighted the show's broad appeal, noting it doesn’t require contestants to fit strict criteria.
“You don’t need to be physically or mentally strong, like you would on Survivor. You don’t need to be single, like you would on MAFS,” she explained.
This openness enhances the show's diversity and accessibility, setting it apart from other reality competitions.
